What is a Stumpknocker?

The Stumpknocker is a fish that has long been a part of Southern fishing lore. You’ll find these small bream-like fish hugging the submerged cypress stumps where they live and feed – thus giving them the name Stumpknockers. Stumpknockers are found in large numbers along the scenic Withlacoochee and other Florida rivers. Stumpknockers Restaurants is like its namesake – small and tucked away, but well worth the trouble to find.

Worst restaurant and food ever went to in my 70 years of age. And they won’t give you a printed receipt. Felt sick for 2 days and blood work showed stomach poisoning.

  Was with 7 other friends and our server was serving many other tables but you wouldn’t know it. Christina was very attentive and kept our drinks coming! The food was delicious and the servings are huge. Every one of our plates were overflowing. The oysters were plump. I highly suggest the fried vegetable platter for an appetizer. Sounds boring but it’s not! All 7 of my friends were amazed at how delicious it was. Thanks again, Christina!

the worst meal I have had i florida Every one at are table except my shelf had the prime rib they loved it Unfortunately i had the corn beef an cabbage it was dried up disgusting mess Everyone at the table could not believe that a plate like that was allowed to leave kitchen It was taken off the bill with no apology
