Mary’s Bead Studio

Mary’s Bead Studio is the only bead store located in the central five rural county area south of Polk County. Mary’s has a wide variety of Swarovski crystals and pearls, Czech beads and pearls, Miyuki and Toho seed beads, sea glass, Kumihimo supplies, findings, wire, jewelry making tools, Fireline, C-lon, leather, chain, cup chain, Tulip needles and much more.

Hours:

October – April: Tuesday – Friday 10:00 – 5:00 and Saturday 10:00 – 2:00

May – July: Tuesday – Friday 10:00 – 4:00, Saturday by appointment

August and September by appointment

Instructors:

Mary Freeman – bead weaving, stringing, costume jewelry repair

Cheryl Bryant – bead weaving, stringing, costume jewelry repair

Joe Turk – wire wrapping, wire weaving

Located south of South Florida State College

Whether you are a novice or have experience, Mary’s Bead Studio is for you. Classic stitches such as herringbone, peyote, ladder, brick, right angle weave, cubic right angle weave, chenille and Russian spiral are taught. Lesson on how to read and follow printed patterns are included in all classes. Instructional classes are available every day at $10.00 per hour, per person, with a maximum of four people in a class so that everyone is provided individual attention. One on one classes are available at no extra charge. Mary’s Bead Studio does provide off-site classes to groups, call for more information.

Great place, easy access! Mary the owner is a wonderful teacher with many years of experience. She is helpful with designs, the appropriate
materials and is very patient.

She also sells already made jewelry if you do not want make something yourself!
