Captain Aaron Shields was born in a small fishing village named Havre de Grace in Maryland. It’s located at the mouth of the Susquehanna River, most northern town on the Chesapeake Bay. Being on the water since he was two and made his first catch by the age of four, he is an avid fisherman with passion and knowledge. Shortly after his fifth birthday his family decided to move to Citrus County to be closer to his grandparents. Living on the Tsala Popka chain of Lakes, Captain Aaron Shields spent much of his time fresh water fishing for Bluegill, Bass, and the occasional alligator. After moving to Crystal River, Aaron discovered saltwater fishing on the Crystal River, Homosassa and Chasahowitzka River. He befriended local commercial fisherman spending time net fishing and learning about the connecting main rivers of the county, such as Fish Creek Black Creek, Salt River, Ozello, St. Martins,Sam’s Bayou, Little Homosassa and Mason Creek. With Aaron’s extensive knowledge of the county water ways, he now spends his time fishing for all the inshore species of game fish.
