Tae Kwon Do is an excellent family sport. Here at Evolution we have many families who are in class every week deepening their family bond. Evolution provides a family friendly environment that welcomes everyone.

What is Tae Kwon Do?

The literal translation of the Korean phrase Tae Kwon Do is a method of defending yourself with your hands and feet. Tae Kwon Do is a martial art that is based on the theory that the feet are better weapons than the hands. Practitioners become very effective at targeting and throwing kick combinations. They also train to punch and strike effectively with the hands. This produces some of the finest and most well rounded martial artists.

However, technical skill is not the ultimate goal of Tae Kwon Do. Well rounded martial artists must be balanced and disciplined individuals as well. There are five characteristics or tenets which practitioners of Tae Kwon Do strive to develop within themselves. The staff at Evolution Martial Arts will work closely with you so that you can understand the concept.

Tae kwon do is a Korean martial art which is fast becoming one of the most popular martial arts in the world.

It is a scientifically designed system of both physical and mental development and an extremely powerful and effective form of self defense. A traditional school will use both tae kwon do terminology and bowing when addressing others. We bow to our instructors and seniors.
