We are one of only 8 Platinum Scubapro dealerships in US, and carry a full line of rental and dive gear. And all of our Captains are insured and a minimum of Open Water Rescue Certified. Bird’s Underwater has been featured on over 25 television programs including Small Planet, Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom, Lonely Planet, and The 700 Club. All tours include snacks, hot and cold drinks. And small 6 person excursions include fresh fruit, and a Brunch tray. Our tours are spaced so that we do not have to rush back to the dock. Our boats are fully enclosed for the cold winter seasons. And we have a changing room and porta-potti. Therefore, you will truly love the experience at Bird’s Underwater in Crystal River, Florida.

Swim with the Manatees

Swimming with Manatees is a unique and privileged experience, there is no other location in the US where this is allowed. It is a truly a wild animal encounter like no other. We are allowed to quietly snorkel alongside the manatees, in their habitat, in the 72 degree spring fed waters of the Crystal River. The captains at Bird’s Underwater are long term employees. They are experienced, mature adults dedicated to making sure you have a fun, safe, and informative tour. Our captains get INTO the water to assist you, assure the passive interaction with the manatees, and shoot an underwater video that you can view upon return and purchase if you like. Our tours are 3 – 4 hours long depending on the conditions. We do not rush you out of the water. We do not have to get back to the dock to make a deadline for another tour.
