We are a SMALL mom and pop restaurant. Unfortunately, we do not accept reservations & we are not able to accommodate parties larger than 10 at a single table. We pride ourselves on working to cater towards those with specific diets or food allergies, so please let us know upon your arrival and we will always do what we can to make your experience excellent. DIY PANCAKES! We have 8 Griddle tables where you can purchase batter by the bottle and get cooking! Buttermilk, Whole Wheat, Gluten free, and occasional seasonal flavors. Add your own toppings and sides. You do the cooking, we clean up the mess!

Backwater is proud to work closely and exclusively with three local non profit organizations near and dear to our hearts. We work closely with To Write Love on Her Arms, based right down the street here in Melbourne. We also donate annually to the Marine Resources Council who work as stewards for the Indian River Lagoon. On a local/national level we contribute to wetland acquisition and preservation initiatives via Ducks Unlimited.
