Swinging Clubs in the Sunshine State

Florida is the number one golf destination in the United States. With gorgeous year round weather and luscious greens, it’s not surprising why so many golfers are swinging clubs in the sunshine state.

Whether you’re looking to play on a public course, a semi private, a private golf course or at a golf resort, I think it’s safe to say that everyone is wanting the same outcome. A Hole In One.

Don’t beat yourself up if you haven’t made one because the odds are not in your favor. There’s only a 12,500 to 1 chance of making a hole in one in your lifetime! There’s actually plenty of professional golfers who will never do so during their whole career! Just keep swinging those clubs and have some fun.

Golf has been a popular sport for centuries

Golf dates back to the 14th century when Scottish people invented the game back in 1457. It wasn’t the same as it is today though, the balls were originally made out of leather wrapped around feathers. That was until they started making them out of wood. Oh boy, that would hurt. Maybe that is why it was banned until 1744. Nowadays, your main concern for safety is watching out for gators on the course! Alligators are commonly found on or near golf courses in Florida, typically sunbathing on the greens. You’re more susceptible to seeing these big guys during mating season which runs from April through June each year. Learn more about Florida Gators.
