Smokin Jim’s House of BBQ in Auburndale, Florida has the Best Butt in Town!

Since opening this quaint barbeque restaurant in February 2005, Jim Rabe, a Winter Haven native, has learned a lot about the industry. Smokin’ Jim, as he is more affectionately known, cooked in the backyard barbeque circuit tor about three years, perfecting his craft as well as catering small events tor friends and family, and bringing home many trophies and ribbons from competitions. Stepping up to the next level was the obvious tor Smokin’Jim. Urged by his family and friends, he took the leap at faith. Jim believed in his award-winning barbecue, so he went for it, no restaurant experience at all. And Polk County is glad he did! Smokin’ Jim’s House of Bar-B-Q pleases the palates of locals and visitors to Polk County on a weekly basis.

Best Butt in Town!

Many people travel miles in order to enjoy “fall off the bone” ribs, pulled pork, beet brisket, smoked turkey, great steaks, and more. In addition to the large BBQ menu, there are daily and nightly specials ranging from smoked ham with scalloped potatoes to meatloaf and beet tips over rice. All “specials” incorporate Jim’s recipes and techniques with meat.

One of the most popular nights at Smokin’ Jim’s House of Bar-B-Q is Saturday Steak Night. From 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Jim grills up the steaks just the way you like them. New York Strip Steaks are ordered by the ind1 so that you can have any thickness you desire. Many Saturday nights feature local area musicians, which creates a party atmosphere in the cooler weather. Jim feels it is “a icy to wake up every morning and be able to do what you have a passion tor.
