We’re conveniently located in Kissimmee, FL just outside of Orlando and minutes from the main gate of the major area attractions. Our rustic-themed Paddling Center facility includes adjacent hiking and biking trails. Picnic tables are onsite making this a great family or group event location. We offer guided tours and hourly rentals on canoes, kayaks, paddle boards and more. There’s so much to do here at the Paddling Center at Shingle Creek. Spend time with the family and friends while exploring nature, paddling, hiking and biking on our nature trails.

Shingle Creek is headwaters of the Everglades and was recently rated one of the top paddling trails in Florida. Central Florida is known for it’s beautiful scenery, abundance of wildlife and relaxing waterways. Our trained staff is friendly and provides new and novice paddlers the basic paddling skills to enjoy the exceptional natural beauty that is Shingle Creek. The Paddling Center has several onsite picnic tables for hosting group events, such as birthday parties, family reunions, team building, etc. There is a stainless steel gas grill available to rent ($10/hr) unless you prefer to bring your own. Be sure to call and reserve the tables in advance. We offer group discount for multi-equipment multi-hour rentals. Having hiking and biking trails adjacent to the Paddling Center facility allows for a range of outdoor activities. What a great way to spend an afternoon or a day!

We offer guided tours from both, The Paddling Center as well as our sister location; The DOCKS at Shingle Creek. The Paddling Center offers a 3 Hour Adventure Challenge Down Stream w/Shuttle. Also, 1.5 Hour Stand-Up Paddleboard Tours and 2 Hour Out and Back Eco Tours. From The DOCKS at Shingle Creek experience our 4-5 Hour Makinson Island Skill Enhancement & Eco Tour. We also rent single kayaks, 2-person (tandem) kayaks, canoes and stand-up paddle boards from both locations.

Catered Camping on Makinson Island, Lake Toho Private Island

The DOCKS at Shingle Creek has an exclusive opportunity to offer their guests a unique “Catered Camping” adventure on Makinson Island. Explore the nature preserve on Historical Makinson Island in Lake Tohopekaliga (Lake Toho) with your personalized catered camping experience. And the DOCKS at Shingle Creek will handle all the details needed for this Overnight Eco-Tourism adventure experiencing the “Real Florida Attraction” nature. Edu-tainment & Field Trip Opportunities

Our overall vision and goal to blend information and education about eco, culture, and history behind Osceola County and Shingle Creek into an entertaining narrative that is spiced with a little humor. The goal is to allow people to enjoy the Creek in a safe and leisurely fashion and realize at the end they maybe learned something new and interesting. We offer a truly unique and fun field trip experience that incorporates learning the skills needed to safely paddle a canoe or kayak. The classes include Birds in Flight, Predator-Prey Relationships, Eco-Discovery and assorted cooperative game-based exercises. The goal is to provide a relevant eco-based curricula with on-the-water skill building that is fun and challenging.
