Owner and Executive Chef, David Benstock

Chef David Benstock was introduced to the restaurant industry as a boy of only thirteen years old. He began his career as a busboy at the Villa Gallace on Indian Rocks Beach right here in Pinellas county, Florida.

By the time he was in college, Chef David understood that his true passion was cooking and worked his way through the ranks at various restaurants.

His travels included; running front line at Wolfgang Puck Spago in Colorado, New York City and the Fontainebleau Scarpetta in Miami. This is when he turned his primary focus on Italian cuisine and eventually returned to St. Pete and Il Ritorno was born. The name Il Ritorno translates to “The Return” in Italian, and marks the homecoming of our Executive Chef, David Benstock.

Since opening the doors in December 2013, Chef David Benstock along with his wife Erica and their outstanding staff has been bringing a new taste of fresh Italian cuisine to the community. Our downtown St Pete restaurant is the perfect setting for a romantic evening. From anniversaries to date night, rehearsal dinners and birthdays, we create memories that you will always remember.

Reservation Policy:
As a courtesy, tables will be held for 20 minutes past your stated arrival time.

Dress Code:

My husband and I were more than pleased with the quality of our entree’s. I ordered the seared scallops and Tony had the veal chop. Both meals were delightful. The service and atmosphere was 5 star.
