Our founder and owner, Paige Bakhaus was the first Certified Paddleboard Instructor in Charlotte & Sarasota Counties and has been certified since February 2011. Our team of educated and experienced instructors are certified and passionate about teaching our guests the proper way to paddle and enjoy the amazing experience of water sports.
At Hooked on SUP, we guarantee it’s the most fun you can have standing up. Other than kayak and paddleboard rentals, we offer private and group lessons and magical eco-tours. Let our certified instructors guide your party through the mangrove forests and across the beautiful flats of Don Pedro State Park, Lemon Bay, Palm Island, Rum Bay & Stump Pass Beach State Park. We will teach you how to walk on water and get fit doing it! All of our guided tours can be done by stand up paddleboard, single kayak, or double kayak. Tours are designed for paddlers of all skill levels and a lesson is given before getting on the water.
Hooked on SUP offers two convenient waterside locations in the Charlotte County. You’ll find yourself emerged in paddler’s paradise with just a short drive from anywhere within the Englewood, Venice, North Port, Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda area.
We do however offer free delivery with any full day rental. If you’d prefer to begin your journey from your hotel, house, vacation property, or public beach, rent a kayak or paddleboard for a full day* and we’ll deliver to you. Call us at 941-504-1699 for more info.
Don Pedro Island State Park
We are an official vendor of Don Pedro Island State Park and offer daily launches from the mainland. The parking fee is $3 per car and is to paid at the entrance of the State Park. Come experience some of the most breathtaking nature in the sunshine state. Rent a kayak or stand up paddleboard to get a front-row seat to see dolphins, manatees, sea stars, live shells, stingray – not to mention the variety of birds and plant life that call our coastline home. We offer hourly, daily and weekly rentals and a portion of our proceeds benefit the Florida State Parks.

Stump Beach State Park
Our other launch location is at Stump Beach State Park which is located at the south end of Manasota Key. At this location, you’ll have easy access to launch directly into the ocean or the Intercoastal Waterway. We have a designated parking area, so there should be no trouble finding a parking spot. Parking fee is $3 per car, paid at the entrance to the State Park. Just like at Don Pedro, a portion of our proceeds benefit the Florida State Parks.

Rent a kayak or paddleboard from Hooked on SUP and discover the beauty of Englewood’s tropical waterways. You’re entire group will have the time of your life when paddling or kayaking the beautiful flats and mangrove forests of Don Pedro State Park, Lemon Bay, Palm Island, Rum Bay or Stump Pass Beach State Park. Being so close to the water allows you to see exotic local wildlife, fish, stingrays, dolphins & even manatee swimming by, as if you are floating on a tropical aquarium. Paddle boarding and kayaking are visually amazing experiences, while also giving you a complete body and core workout. It is perfect for all ages and skill levels, the only requirement is that you can swim and that you want to have the time of your life on the water!
We do accept walk-ins, but reservations are encouraged for all rentals to ensure availability.
