As the owner of Chef T’s Garden Grill, Chef Terry Doner is both proud and humbled to share the history and tradition of our location. The restaurant is set in the remarkable Chiles house in Lakeland, FL, a beautiful home filled with generations of one family’s love and memories. Chef Doner has always cherished the feeling that he could make it the home of his own passion – cooking.

“At the beginning of my career as a chef I dreamed of cooking nightly at a small signature place that defines myself, changing the menu based on what was fresh, in season and at the market that day, with my hands on every plate that left the kitchen.

Through the years, I’ve never let go of that ideal. I celebrate the made to order cooking concept with all the freshest ingredients that are available, a place where a menu is built on seasonal and sustainable ingredients that inspire me. or until the last reservation.

Reservations and Dress Code

Reservations are highly recommended on weekends and holidays. Our dress code is smart casual. No cutoffs, tank tops or flip flops please.

Visited Chef T’s in Lakeland last night. As always the food was excellent!! The chocolate cake is the star of the show. We had seafood and veal and everything was prepared beautifully. However, the waitress seemed inexperienced and would forget requests or try to remove our food before we were finished. She was pleasant, but does not listen. Also, the restaurant was very freezing and we had to keep our coats on during our meal. We are familiar with Chef T’s so somewhat disappointed the dining experience was less enjoyable, than is usual.
