Hire Licensed Painting Contractors for all your Exterior & Interior Painting Projects
Exterior paint can last 5 to 10 years in Florida, or longer. The difference depends on the type of paint you use, the Florida sun, thunderstorms and the surrounding environment. Interior paint is typically changed more often due to being touched, updating color schemes and following new decorating trends. Although it is inexpensive to DIY, it often pays to just have it done. An experienced painter who is skilled in the profession won’t get paint all over the ceilings, floors, door jams and outlet covers. He or she knows the tips and tricks of perfecting the project.

Here’s something you may not have known….
Taste of Florida History – Written 2-28-24. Paint was one of the earliest arts of humanity. Some cave paintings drawn with red or yellow ochre, hematite, manganese oxide, and charcoal may have been made by early Homo sapiens as long as 40,000 years ago. Paint may be even older. The oldest known painting is approximately 40,000 years old, and early examples of painting by Neanderthal and prehistoric humans have been found all over the world. Painted using red ochre and black pigment, they usually depict common animals that were hunted, such as horses, rhinos and lions.
Ochre, iron oxide, was the first color of paint. A favored blue pigment was derived from lapis lazuli. Pigments based on minerals and clays often bear the name of the city or region where they were originally mined. In 1704, the German colour maker Johann Jacob Diesbach created Prussian blue by accident in his laboratory. This became the first chemically synthesised colour. Devoe Paint is recognized as the first American paint brand, with origins dating to 1754.
Today, the most popular brand of paint include companies such as; Sherwin-Williams, Benjamin Moore, Behr, Kilz, Rust-Oleum, Valspar, Diamond Brite and Glidden.
