Zolfo is famous for their annual Pioneer Park days event which is held each year in March. Pioneer Park Days is one of the largest and oldest farm equipment shows in the south. There are always over 200 exhibits of antique tractor, engines, and farm equipment. Since 1968, this event has been one of Florida’s premier outdoor festivials. Be sure to attend this fun filled family annual event. It’s a great way to experience the way it was back in the old days.

Ghost Town in Hardee County – Moffit, Florida

There is a ghost town just south of Zolfo Springs in Hardee County. The town was once known as Moffit, Florida. John Moffitt was the one who developed the town after the Florida Southern Railway was built. as well as the founder. Most of the residents of Moffit worked in the farming and cattle industry as well as the lumber mill. Eventually the trees ran out and were gone so the lumber mill closed down and the people who lived there had to move away. The town had a post office from 1900 – 1916. Once the railroad tracks went away it became a ghost town. as a result, it’s nothing but a rural area today.
