Sebring

Sebring is located along the Hwy 27 corridor in Highlands County, Florida. The 11,000 residents who call this area home enjoy the laid back feel and support of the local community. Being the center of the county and the biggest city within the area, you’ll find plenty of things to do. Home to the Sebring International Raceway and and often known as “The City on the Circle,” this unique city offers a wide range of shopping destinations as well as great food at the local restaurants and numerous parks with lakes and outdoor activities.

 

Highlands County is extremely popular with race fans. Since the early 1950’s, residents and visitors from all over the sunshine state and beyond have been visiting the Sebring International Raceway. Many NASCAR legends have sped along these tracks including; Curtis Turner, Fireball Roberts and Bobby Allison. Both, Dale Earnhardt and Dale JR have tested at SRI. Other NASCAR drivers that have competed are Bill Elliott, Ricky Rudd, Ken Schrader, Terry Labonte, and Joe Nemacheck.

The very first “12 Hours of Sebring” race was held on March 15th 1952. Through the years, legends such as Mario Andretti, A.J. Foyt, Dan Gurney, Phil Hill, Stirling Moss, Juan Manuel Fangio, Jim Hall, Al Holbert, Bobby Rahal have won the 12 Hours of Sebring. If your a race fan, check the schedule and come see a race!
