One of the most visited areas include the Inglis Bypass Recreation Area, This is a great place to go for bird watching, picnics and fishing. The bypass spillway feeds freshwater from Lake Rousseau into the lower Withlacoochee River, which flows downstream through the towns of Inglis and Yankeetown before reaching the Gulf of Mexico. Taste of History & Fun Facts: The Town of Inglis, Florida was incorporated in 1955. The current population is around 1,325. The entire town is made up of a total area of 3.7 square miles and 99% of the population is of the white race. Did you know? A tribute to Elvis Presley is located in front of the Inglis Chamber of Commerce on Follow that dream Parkway (C.R. 40 ). The sign gives a brief summary about the movie and reads:  In July and August of 1961, Elvis Presley filmed his ninth major motion picture “Follow that Dream”. Several locations in the area were utilized. The majority scenes being shot just a few miles ahead of Bird Creek bridge.  A must see for Elvis fans
