I came here to find South paws telephone number because I recently lost all my contacts in my previous phone the got water damage and was very bothered by reading the 1 star review from TM. I’ve known Marsha for years from doing business with South paws and she would never neglect or mistreat any animal. She is a dog whisperer and goes above and beyond for all pets. She is very passionate about pet sitting and my 3 dogs love her like she’s family. TM you sound petty and it’s clear your exaggerating and trying to purposely hurt her reputation but that will not work because Marsha has been around for years and everyone loves her. I’m sorry you had a bad experience and feel your pets weren’t taken care of properly but it sounds like to me you may of got a ear full of complaints from your 80yr old mom and instead of taking responsibility for your mess up and your lack of communication out on poor Marsha and then to write a bad check on top of it was a low blow. Next time make things clear with whoever your trusting with your fur babies so everyone is on the same page before you leave town especially if you have 7 pets. I see this as a lack of responsibility on the pet owner and lack of accountability. Do you know how much it costs to walk 7 dogs every 2 hours lol I’m sure way more than you paid and even if you did pay more this is clearly the the pet owners fault. I almost didn’t leave a comment but it is wrong to make good honest people look bad ok Rant Over.

We could not be more DISSAPOINTED in the services we received from Marcia Berger (South Paws In-Home Pet Sitter.) She did not follow the schedule we have and agreed upon for our dogs, she was only there at our home for the overnight hours and left my 80 year old mother-in-law to deal with the dogs all day. She told us of two times she would not be there, once when she would go out with her friends Friday night at Cigar Life Lounge for a couple hours which turned into her leaving at 6pm and coming back to the house after 11pm. The other time was church on Sunday, That day she was gone from 7:30am to 3:50pm, again leaving my mother-in-law to do the job she was being paid to do. Saturday she was gone from 9:45am till after 5pm. Her website talks about how she spends quality time with our pets. When questioned on it she said she was there all night and that was the quality time. The dogs also get calming medicine given once at night with their food, they received it for breakfast and dinner on Saturday. Everything was written in black and white and ignored. Additionally she chose to smoke a cigar on our enclosed Lanai without even the common courtesy to ask us if was ok, and we were left to pick up the ashes and tobacco pieces she left behind. (oh and yes tobacco is toxic to dogs.) We also cleaned up tobacco pieces from our master bathroom toilet area, which yes smells like she smoked in there too. Her response to this was I never smoked in the house only outside with the door closed. Again without respecting us enough to ask first. I guess she forgot or didn’t realize we have outside cameras (yes they are out in the open.) We hired her to take care of our dogs, which are our children. She did not. she did as she wanted and ignored everything else. She left it to the 80 year old woman in poor health to do it.

  I have been watching pets for 15 years. This client wanted me to be there and walk 7 dogs every 2 hours. Yes this was documented on a piece of paper left for me. This was not stated up front. If I would have known this, I would have told them, that this is not the job for me. I slept over for 3 nights 6 of the 7 dogs slept with me and 1 was crated. The dogs cried and yelpt all night long.
  As for the evening times, I have other accounts and have other responsibilities. I apologized to the 80 year old mother for returning late on Friday, but I still took the dogs out. I feed all 7 of them that was a major chore.
  I wish you the best in finding a pet company that will chargr you as little that I did for the amount of care that was requested.
  I should not have taken this job and should have been given information up front as per the every 2 hours of walking verbally rather than on a single sheet of paper.

I was blessed to find Marcia when my family and I had to travel out of state for several days, on very short notice. I was weary at first because I had never hired an in home pet sitter. But Marcia put all of my worries to rest. I saw how she interacted with my dogs and went above and beyond to make my family and I feel comfortable that she was in our home, taking care of our fur babies. I’ll only use Marcia/South Paws for our canine family members’ pet sitting needs–that’s how wonderful, professional and trustworthy she is!!

Marcia was fantastic with my 3 dogs! She stayed at my house with them while I was out of town and it was perfect! The dogs took to her right away and the peace of mind I had knowing that they were in their own environment, with someone who cared about them rather than in a kennel, was priceless! Her price was reasonable and I am so very glad I found her! I highly recommend her and will definitely use her services again

Marcia is the best decision I’ve ever made for my baby. I have a very needy cat and needs to see people everyday.
Marcia does as promised. Cares nicely for the baby and is very gentle.

I have a two year old Austrian Shepard that had never been in a kennel. I had to take a week trip and didn’t want to put Sadie Mae in a kennel. I had a friend ell me about South Paws. I am so glad I was able to have Marcia look after Sadie Mae. I was also glad to see the pictures I received ever day and how happy Sadie Mae looked. I will never put Sadie Mae in a kennel as long as Marcia is in business. Thank you Marcia.

Dr. Marcia was great with our dog! He’s a shelter dog and a hard case and we went through a couple people before finding her. She knew just how to handle him and took him to the dog park at our apartment and did a great job! She also sent me a couple pictures so I had extra reassurance that all was going well. We will definitely be repeat clients!! Thank you Marcia! You watching the dog was one less stressor.

I would recommend Marcia Berger to anyone looking for pet sitting services because she is excellent with your pets and is very dependable. Marcia has been taking care of my Main Coon Cat Oliver for over two years, and she was taking care of my mother’s dog until my mother passed away. Mattie, the dog, was always excited to walk and play with Marcia when she came to the house.

My mind is at ease when Oliver is under Marcia’s care. When I traveled, Marcia sends daily text messages to show me that my cat is doing fine.

I have no hesitation recommending Marcia as a pet caregiver. I feel entirely secure, leaving her in control of my cat when I am gone and know that I will return home to a pet that is not stressed out and nervous.

Marcia is the BEST pet sitter I’ve ever had to watch my fur babies. I’ve had some very bad experiences in the past with other pet sitters and was so afraid to try someone new. I’m SO VERY GLAD that I did. She was constantly in touch with me before during and after my Cruise. I was so impressed with the way my dogs (and cats) took to her. They seemed to love her from the very first meeting (and they don’t like most people). The house was clean and the pets were as happy when I returned as if I had never left. From now on, all of my vacation worries are put to rest. I know I can count on South Paws In-Home Pet Sitter, Marcia!!

We left 3 of our dogs in Marcia’s care and headed out on vacation for 7 nights. I was a little worried about leaving them, especially since one of them is extremely fearful and skeptical around new people. Marcia made it a point to come out twice before we left on vacation so that she could work with Aera feeling comfortable with her. Marcia stayed at our home for 7 nights and everything went perfect while we were gone. Our dogs are on an all natural raw food diet and it can be a pain to feed everyone in the morning, especially when they have to be taken out at separately. Marcia made it work and kept everyone on their routine. Everything worked out perfect and we came home to 3 happy dogs and 5 happy fish. I highly recommend Marcia to anyone looking for a pet sitter or just someone to come and take their dogs out occasionally.

Marcia took such good care of our cats, We have 8, and they don’t always get along well. Marcia sent me a text everyday with messages that let me know she was interacting with our cats. She fed, watered and scooped everyday, whcih allowed me to enjoy our trip more. I will call on Marcia for future care of our cats. Further, I will recommend her services to others. I could not be happier with the dog sitting services offered. We went out of town for a week and left our two dogs home. Marcia came to see and feed them multiple times a day and i revived texts letting me know how the dogs were doing. We will certainly be using Marcia again in the future. As an added bonus she took in all our mail and packages and took our garbage out on garbage day. Very trustworthy and very affordable.
